Stevie Nicks Reveals Reason She Postponed Her U.K. Shows

A few weeks ago, Stevie Nicks postponed several shows on her U.K. tour. Now, she is explaining to her fans exactly what happened. The former Fleetwood Mac singer said that she experienced a medical emergency and needed to undergo a minor surgical procedure on her leg while out on tour.
The 76-year-old explained during a recent show in Scotland, “I don’t know what happened. I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy. I finally just looked at my assistant — it was like 2 in the morning — and I said, ‘I think we need to go to emergency.'” She continued, “And so our butler — this wonderful man — throws us in his BMW Sedan, which is so great, and off we sped through the night to a hospital.” Nicks spent several days in the hospital and canceled one of the shows just hours before she was supposed to appear because she was hoping to be able to make it.

Nicks added to the crowd, “This whole tour I’ve been fighting what started here. And I would be damned if I wasn’t coming back here.” She did not explain what happened to her leg or what caused the injury and infection in the first place but it seems like she is on the mend now.
Nicks has been performing in the U.K. for a while now and was joined by British pop singer Harry Styles at her July 12 show. The two performed a beautiful duet of the Fleetwood Mac song “Landslide,” as a tribute to Nicks’ late Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, who passed away after an ischemic stroke in 2022. After McVie passed away, Nicks confirmed that the band would never reunite for another tour because it wouldn’t be right without her.
