Frog and Toad Books Come Alive In New Apple TV+ Series
Kids of the 1970s will be happy to learn that the beloved award-winning children’s book series by Arnold Lobel about two best friends who are also amphibians is now an animated series on Apple TV+! Lobel released twenty stories in his four-book collection on these companions with differing viewpoints. Most of his stories shared a message on the importance of friendship — they were a bit ‘Felix and Oscar’ in approach, where Toad was often more serious and uptight, and Frog far more upbeat and positive.
Nat Faxon provides the voice of Frog and Kevin Michael Richardson is the voice of Toad in this heartwarming new animated series that is available to stream on Friday, April 28.
Emmy Award winner Rob Hoegee (Stillwater, Niko & the Sword of Light) serves as showrunner for the series and Emmy Award-winning studio Titmouse (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks, The Legend of Vox Machina) produces the animation.
“Frog and Toad are best friends who know that the true secret to friendship is not only enjoying the things you have in common but embracing the things that make you different,” Apple TV+ has said about the series. “Since our differences are what makes us special, Frog and Toad celebrate what makes them unique!”
