Mick Fleetwood hopes to be an integral part in getting former Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to bury the hatchet. Nicks and Buckingham have had a tumultuous relationship over the years and things came to a head in 2018 when Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac. Buckingham sued his former band and blamed Nicks for the decision, although she claims that she didn’t have him fired. No matter what actually happened, it resulted in their friendship being put to rest for good.

Now, Fleetwood said he wishes that they would reconcile. He explained, “It’s no secret, it’s no title-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally. Stevie’s able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn’t feel, as does Lindsey. But I’ll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them — and that doesn’t have to take the shape of a (Fleetwood Mac) tour, necessarily.”

Nicks continues to tour on her own and has previously said that she would never consider a Fleetwood Mac reunion after the death of bandmate Christine McVie. Fleetwood added that her death was hard on him as well and shared, “It’s been a strange time for me. Losing sweet Christine (McVie) was catastrophic. And then, in my world, sort of losing the band too. And I (split) with my partner as well. I just found myself sort of licking my wounds.”

In addition to seeing the band fall apart and dealing with the loss of McVie, Fleetwood had another loss to deal with in 2023. He lost his restaurant, Fleetwood’s on Front St, when wildfires raged through Maui, Hawaii. The island is still being rebuilt and its residents are dealing with the trauma but Fleetwood has hopes to reopen the restaurant one day, adding “I’m even starting to think about bringing back my crazy little restaurant. It was a place where people around here would gather and commune.”

Do you hope that Nicks and Buckingham will eventually reunite?
