Bret Michaels is ready for Father’s Day. Not only is he celebrating with his daughters but he is releasing a new special called Biography: Bret Michaels on A&E. Michaels has been staying busy with a newer single called “Back in the Day” and heading out on tour too. Now, Michaels, who has been rocking out solo and with the band Poison for decades, admitted that Father’s Day can be pretty bittersweet. He acknowledged that he’s been traveling so much over the years that he has missed some of his kid’s special events.

Michaels explained, “What was tough is I became a father. Which is sometimes when your kids are having a special event, right? And you’re not going to be able to be back, because you’re in South America or something. Those are the tough, bittersweet moments, you know, as a dad. But being on the road, I know everyone wants it. I’m grateful. Like it’s in the words of the movie ‘The Godfather,’ ‘This is the life we’ve chosen.’”

Michaels’ daughters, Raine, 24, and Jorja, 19, were interviewed in the new special, and while he shared that they were nervous about doing live interviews, they did great. He added, “I like to think that I’m a really good father, and we have fun. And I say, ‘Girls, if you want to do this, [the producers] would love it. They went in, and [the producers] said they did really good stuff.”

Michaels and daughter Raine are teaming up for another very fun project with Fox Sports producer Jay Glazer. They are going to have a new podcast called The Rock, The Jock & The Talk where they “talk about the funniest topics” and added that they will “just kind of wing it.” Meanwhile, Jorja is in school and hopes to open up a hair salon one day.
