Everything We Know About the New ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!’
Every once in a while, Jeopardy! will ask some entertainment questions that get fans who are more knowledgeable in pop culture rather than history excited. Now, the dreams of an entire show surrounding these kinds of questions are coming true! The new show called Pop Culture Jeopardy! is currently asking for potential contestants to apply.

If you’re interested in applying, you will need a team of three. The casting team is suggesting that each person is a fan of a particular topic so that your team is very well-rounded in all things celeb, TV shows and movies. Once you’ve chosen two friends to join you on the application journey, you can apply on the website individually by taking a 15-minute quiz that tests your knowledge of pop culture. As of now, some people have been running into technical difficulties on the website but hopefully, it will be fixed very soon! Fans from the United States and Canada can apply, you just have to be over 18 years old.

The website shares, “Contestants, playing in teams of three, will need to be experts in categories from Alternative Rock to The Avengers; Broadway to MMA; Gen Z to Zendaya as they compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights.” This isn’t the first time a spin-off of Jeopardy! based on a specific topic has been aired. Sports Jeopardy! ran on Crackle from 2014 to 2016. Of course, there have also been several spin-offs of the iconic game show including celebrities, college students and more.
“Pop Culture Jeopardy is its own cultural moment, marking the first time the iconic franchise will premiere exclusively on a streaming service,” said Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD originals unscripted and targeted programming, Amazon MGM Studios. “With a team-based approach and pop-culture focus, our global Prime Video customers will exclusively experience this innovative spin on Jeopardy! while testing their knowledge on topics that both define and transcend generations.”
The show is expected to stream on Amazon Prime Video. As of now, a host and the premiere date has not yet been announced but stay tuned for further updates!
