Kim Fields recently dropped some big news on her fans. The Facts of Life star appeared on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and revealed that she kissed Jason Bateman back in the 1980s when they were both teen stars. She said that it was just a “sweet teen kiss” and never developed into anything more romantic.

She explained, “Jason was on a show called ‘It’s Your Move,’ which was a spinoff from a show called ‘Silver Spoons.’ And ‘Facts of Life,’ we were all there filming these wonderful ’80s TV shows together… And so we would all do these game shows and things together, and so we did a show called ‘Body Language.’ And while we were filming — and we knew each other before then — I had an appearance actually to perform ‘Dear Michael’ and the other song at the Tropicana.”

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET and features a diverse lineup of guests that include celebrities, athletes, musical acts, comedians and human interest subjects, along with comedy bits and a house band. The guests for Tuesday, April 2 included James Corden ("This Life of Mine with James Corden"), Kim Fields ("The Upshaws"), and musical guest The Defiant

She continued, “There was this kind of chemistry, this vibe, and so I invited him to come and watch me perform, and he did. Before I went on stage we were backstage and had this sweet teen kiss. And then it was like, that happened. And then we just went on with our lives and our careers and have the utmost respect for one another.”

Kimmel joked that he would get the rest of the story from Bateman directly since Fields’ dad was in the audience. Fields is married to Christopher Morgan and has two children, while Bateman is married to Amanda Anka and they have two kids as well. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Bateman responded to the story with any anecdotes of his own. Be sure to watch the interview clip for yourself and share your thoughts in the comments!
