Shirley Jones Turns 90 & Celebrates with Sons Shaun Cassidy, Patrick Cassidy & Ryan Cassidy
The Partridge Family star Shirley Jones just celebrated a milestone birthday. She turned 90 years old and partied in the mountains with her children and grandchildren. Her son, Shaun Cassidy previously shared a heartfelt birthday message for her on his website and shared photos of the party, set at a snowy mountain cabin, on social media. In one photo, Jones posed with her three sons, wearing a sash that said “90 & Fabulous” and a crown.
He captioned the post, “Happy 90th birthday to Miss Pittsburgh! What an incredible night. #HappyBirthdayEve #ShirleyJones #Brothers,” referring to her 1952 pageant win. About a week before her big birthday, Shaun shared a throwback photo of Jones on her 21st birthday, surrounded by flowers.

He wrote on his website, in part, “The flowers were gifts from fans who’d recently discovered her — and her glorious singing voice — in the motion picture Oklahoma. Mom would soon begin shooting her second film for Rodgers & Hammerstein, Carousel, and in a few years, she’d win the Academy Award for a dramatic turn in [1960’s] Elmer Gantry.”

Jones’ son Patrick also opened up about the birthday celebration and about how special it was. He said, “Each person from the youngest granddaughter to the oldest son told a story about what this incredible woman meant to them. It was one of the most beautiful, emotional, personal moments all of us could’ve ever asked for. Happy Birthday Shirley Jones. A mother, a grandmother, a mother-in-law, a person that has meant so much to so many. But most of all to us, your family. We Love You ❤️🎂 .”
Remind Jones is best known for playing Shirley Partridge on The Patridge Family and for the films Oklahoma!, Carousel, The Music Man, and Elmer Gantry. She also famously turned down the role of Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch.
