Mindy Cohn is ready to show fans that she’s more than just Natalie Green. Cohn is best known for her role in The Facts of Life but she believes that she is peaking in her career right now. She currently stars in the series Palm Royale, set in 1969 and starring Carol Burnett, Kristin Wiig, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin and others. In the series, Cohn plays columnist Ann Holiday and calls it “the role of a lifetime.”

Her character is the editor of the Palm Beach newspaper called “The Shiny Sheet” which covers all of the gossip in town. She appears in eight of the ten episodes and Cohn said, “It was absolutely delicious to feel like a full-fledged part of this wonderful cast.”

Cohn didn’t always have the dream to be a star. Cohn met Diff’rent Strokes actor Charlotte Rae when she visited her high school and Rae was adamant that Cohn was cast in the new series they were working on. So, she was cast in The Facts of Life but her parents just treated it like an extracurricular activity and not a potential career.

Cohn excitedly shared that her Facts of Life co-stars have been very supportive about her new gig. She said, “I was literally talking to Nancy McKeon this morning. She watched the first three episodes of ‘Palm Royale’ and called to say, ‘Hey, pal, I’m so proud of you.’ It’s 45 years later, and I’m so looking forward to people seeing me in a different way.”

The 57-year-old added, “I think I’m going to look the most adorable in my 60s. And I think girls like me, who have that life where you really aren’t your most attractive in your 20s and 30s [and] actually start to really kind of look good in your 50s and 60s, have it so much easier. I didn’t necessarily feel [as] protective over my physical self as people who are told they’re attractive.”

Palm Royale is available on Apple+.
