‘Little House on the Prairie’ Cast Members Will Reunite in Honor of Michael Landon
Some of the cast members from the beloved show Little House on the Prairie are coming together to honor one of their own. Family, friends, and castmates of the late Michael Landon are coming together for a walk to raise money to end pancreatic cancer. Landon passed away in 1991 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Before his death, he helped to create a lot of public awareness about pancreatic cancer at a time when research was limited.
Two of his children, Leslie Landon Matthews and Michael Landon Jr., and Little House on the Prairie alum Dean Butler opened up about creating “Team Little House” for the PanCAN PurpleStride. Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) is holding PurpleStride, a walk to raise money to end pancreatic cancer on April 27, 2024, in 60 cities across the country. “Team Little House” is hoping to raise at least $50,000 for the event in Landon’s memory.
Butler shared about participating in the event, “Even after all these years, Michael Landon will always be an inspiration to me. As we mark the show’s 50th anniversary, Michael’s presence is deeply missed, but his legacy lives on. I hope fans who cherish the show and admire Michael will join me in supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) by registering or donating to Team Little House.”
Landon Matthews added, “My father is always in my daily thoughts. Celebrating the series’ 50th anniversary warms my heart and takes me back to those glorious years we spent so much time together both on and off screen. I hope our team can help bring awareness to this disease and encourage people to donate in my father’s honor to PanCAN.”
