Some of the cast of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire came together on CBS Mornings to promote the new film. CBS brought the nostalgia by sharing a clip of the original Ghostbusters film which premiered in 1984, then a clip of the latest film, starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, Paul Rudd, McKenna Grace, and more.

Murray, wearing a Ghostbusters jacket, opened up about what it meant to him to star in the new film, decades after the original. He said, “I’m thinking that it’s fun that we made something that has lasted this long.” However, he joked that the packs were painful to film with but at least he had his co-stars to commiserate with.

Rudd said that he and Grace are such fans of the original cast and it was very special to work alongside them in the new Ghostbusters movie. He continued that it never gets old to be able to work with someone that he idolized from the past. Grace added that she would always get a picture of herself next to the Ghostbusters car whenever she visited the Sony lot for auditions and how it was a dream come true to be cast in Frozen Empire.

Potts talked about how exciting it was to put a pack on and get in on the action more in the new movie. She said that the director decided to put her in a flight suit about halfway through the filming and she added, “It was biblical. 40 years I waited for that!” Aykroyd shared about how the cast had such great camaraderie and said that he believes audiences still love the movies because, “Everybody loves ghost stories, everybody loves to be scared, and everybody loves to laugh.” Hudson chimed in about his character and how he enjoyed seeing the evolution of Winston Zeddemore over the 40 years.

Finally, the cast shared their favorite lines from the Ghostbusters franchise. Of course, Aykroyd had to say his favorite was, “I’ve been slimed!” while Murray said he loves the line “Who does your taxes?” Hudson said that his favorite is, “If there is a steady paycheck in it, I’ll believe anything you say.” What’s your favorite line?
