Scooby-Doo & Mystery Monsters: How Many Scooby-Doo Villains Can You Name?

SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?, Scooby-Doo, Daphne, Shaggy, Fredddy, Velma, 1969-1972.

We’re sure that when Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created the original series in 1969 for Hanna-Barbera, they never expected that creating a cast of new villains each season would be part of the deal. While Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! only lasted two seasons, it spawned multiple spinoffs throughout the 1970s like the Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour and Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo which introduced us to Scoobs annoying nephew, put em-up pup Scrappy. The 1980s brought us The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. Since then there has been a plethora of straight-to-video movies, new versions of the show, two theatrical feature films, and most recently the 2021 special called Scooby-Doo, Where Are You Now! In 2013, TV Guide Magazine ranked Scooby-Doo the fifth-greatest TV cartoon.

Of course, there was no shortage of monsters and villains that Scooby and the gang solved the mystery of. And if it wouldn’t have been for those pesky kids, those fiends would have gotten away with it.
