Nostalgic Universal Monsters Getting a Home in the New Park Epic Universe
If attending Halloween Horror Nights is your favorite time spent at Univeral Orlando Resort and you particularly love the classic monsters, you’ll want to keep reading! Universal Orlando has announced some plans for their highly-anticipated new theme park coming in 2025 called Universal Epic Universe. The park just released a first look video at the different lands in the new theme park and it includes an entire section for classic monsters.
When visitors enter the park, they will go through the Chronos, a portal that will lead to all of the different lands of the park including How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe. Universal is staying tight-lipped about the offerings in Dark Universe, the classic monsters section, but promises “a world where Universal’s classic monsters are reimagined in an ominous and chilling experience.”
Universal has been teasing some of the over 50 attractions coming to the new theme park but has yet to reveal anything specific about Dark Universe. However, the trailer revealed a huge, spooky castle, and reportedly the land will be overseen by a character named Dr. Victoria Frankenstein. Building permits have also revealed that there will be a rollercoaster in the land.

In addition to a huge new theme park, Universal will be creating a new 500-room resort called the Universal Helios Grand Hotel and new restaurants and dining experiences. Fans can get a better look at the park’s progress at the Universal CityWalk when a preview center opens sometime in late 2024. This is the fourth park within Universal Orlando. Universal Studios opened in 1990, Islands of Adventure opened in 1999, and the newest park, a water park called Volcano Bay, opened in 2017.
