Calista Flockhart appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark to talk about her new show The Feud: Capote vs. The Swans and ended up sharing some fun stories with her fans. She spoke lovingly about her longtime husband Harrison Ford and how he was recently honored with a Career Achievement Award at the Critics Choice Awards.

Kelly Ripa joked to Flockhart, “And dare I say, you bring out the soft, puppy dog side of Harrison Ford that we mortals might not necessarily know is there.” Flockhart responded, “I have something. He’s afraid of me!” After joking around a bit, Flockhart said that Ford was very emotional during his acceptance speech because of all the hard work he’s done over the years and added that she is so proud of him and happy for him.

She even admitted which film of Ford’s is her all-time favorite: 1986’s The Mosquito Coast. Ford plays an inventor who wants to get away from America and city life to make a utopia in Central America with his family, who isn’t exactly on board. Ripa responded that one of her favorites is Working Girl, and Flockhart agreed that Ford is very funny in the film… surprisingly funny.

Recently, Flockhart also opened up about a possible Ally McBeal reboot, which fans are hoping for, especially after seeing some of the cast reunite at the Emmy Awards this year. She confirmed that she would definitely be interested if a reboot or reunion came up and said that a few people are talking about it but she doesn’t know any of the details quite yet. Ally McBeal ran for five seasons between 1997 and 2002, starring Flockhart as a Boston-based lawyer.

Before there was Ally McBeal, there was Guiding Light. Her big break came in New York City when she was cast in the soap opera Guiding Light. She revealed that she graduated and two days later got the gig. On the show, she played a “bad babysitter.” Her character was babysitting but her boyfriend came over and they went on a drive, leaving the baby alone (she clarified that it was a fake baby so no one would be concerned), and it ended up getting kidnapped. Oh, soaps.

Flockhart’s most recent role is the portrayal of Lee Radziwill in FX’s anthology series FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans. It is the second installment in Ryan Murphy‘s anthology, based on the book “Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era” by Laurence Leamer. Watch the eight-episode limited series on FX and Hulu. The show premieres on January 31, 2024, at 10 p.m. ET.
